A bit late but Sir graves Ghastly (Lawson J. Deming) died on 24 April at 94. He was a Detroit cult phenomenon on WJBK Ch. 2 but he worked in Cleveland and Washington DC. He also worked with the late great movie review Bill Kennedy while in Cleveland. Kennedy later worked for WKBD Ch.50 in Detroit.

Got a tentative logging from RTB Belgium on 9770 at 2131 in French. The HFCC list says off at 2200 but heard nothing after 2240. Had to tune out at that time so this is a presumed ID. (I'm so honest.) This is the only station listed on 9770 this summer.

My new Ford gets FM very well, too. WKSU 89.7 was an easy catch from the western suburbs. Usually I could only hear that from I-75 south of Detroit.
Also WCMU 89.5 sounded local. It should sound that way but the old Chrysler couldn't pull in the signal all that well.

Got a Ford Taurus today. A real one, not a 500 or whatever they renamed. The radio works much better than my old Chrysler Concorde. But I still can't get the Ambassador Bridge from the western suburbs. The x-band usually overloaded on my Chrysler.

NHK via England loud and clear at 0509 with the end of the news. Very clear transmission. A nice change from the BBC which used to be on this frequency.
And 750 WSB S9 at 0530+ with minimal QRM yet louder than adjacent WJR at S9+20. The transmitters at WJR have been screwy for years and often reported to be running lower than 50kw.

Melissa Scott on 11870 via Costa Rica (actually 11869.xx but I forgot to write it down). This freq not often heard. 11775 best during the day via Anguilla, if you have to listen.
Also Croatia very difficult to hear on 6165 at local sunset. Something's there, but I can't tell what. This used to be at least a fair catch. I have yet to check the entire sked.

I got to hear Cardinal Maida say Mass for Divine Mercy Sunday in Massachussetts. Heard on WEWN 9490 at 1910+. He has a distinctive voice.

730: WJYM at 2158 with real local ID, as opposed to the entire list of Jimmy Swaggart stations at the top of the hour. Bowling Green, OH. Not DX but the last station heard in my now defunct car, and it had to be him. I'll sneak out and see if I can hear KSL-at least the radio works, although it overloads on the x-band.
USA: KTBN 15590 at 1838 w/some preacher bragging about TV saving people. Says TBN has 15,000 stations and 66 satellite transmissions. The TBN website itself says 500 stations and 33 sat transmissions. Most entertaining.

Also, Houghton Lake was a no go the past fall. I heard nothing while right in front of the airport.
Hopefully I will get plenty of sleep tonight and DX all day tomorrow.

I caught WNZK 690 at 2100+ (5pm EST) in Chaldean. It's really Aramaic. This sounds almost like Arabic except the final syllables are shorter. The program is called Radio Orient as per sked. There are tons of commercials for businesses in the northern suburbs where there are many Chaldeans.

AHHH!!! According to Glenn Hauser (DXLD 7-042 3 April) the FCC approved IBOC to run all night. This will ruin any chance of catching a talking house underneath Warner Robbins which is difficult enough, even in front of the house itself.

730:WJYM is the Jimmy Swaggart outlet from Bowling Green, OH. It is a groundwave transmission (obviously) overtaken by WMTC Vancleve, KY at sunset. WMTC signs off every night just after 0000. They have brief nx and wx and then mention 1000 watts daytime. After 30-60m I hear WLIL from Lenoir, TN playing country western all night.

I haven't heard those for years but I keep checking. Also, the Dearborn Heights Municipal Station also seems to be kaput. I have a log for them on 18 February. I only heard them two or three times.

I am in the process of updating my website with A-07 frequencies. Be patient-I will yet get into this hobby again.
And two non-DX items: I went to Detroit (which doesn't seem to have light bulbs in their traffic signals) on Sunday and did not hear any MDOT station on 1630. I haven't heard those for years but I keep checking. Also, the Dearborn Heights Municipal Station also seems to be kaput. I have a log for them on 18 February. I only heard them two or three times.
