Burmese Broadcasts

There is fascinating footage coming out of Myanmar on the cable channels. Read up on this country-it's a beautiful place.

The Democratic Voice of Burma can be heard daily via Wertachtal from 2330-2430 on 9490 in Burmese. Check for a language change at 0015. I heard such a change on 29 September. According to an old Cumbre sked, there is a 15m Kachin broadcast on Saturdays.

Also at 1400-1527 15480 Yerevan and 17620 Madagascar (neither heard here)

More IBOC observations:

Observations 21 September at 0030 are the same as for 20 September except 560 WRDT cranked up the hiss, obliterating Buffalo on 550 and Youngstown on 570. Also, KMOX obliterating 1130 WDFN, unlike last
night. Hiss hear on 1020, 1030, and 1040. WBZ hiss over 1020 and 1040, but I assume KDKA is responsible for the noise on 1030, altho' I'm only hearing presumed CFRB on 1010.

Nighttime IBOC

Nighttime IBOC observations:

The only local nighttime IBOC signals are WJR 760, WFDF 910, and WWJ 950. Hiss from WJR blocks WSB Atlanta, a much better station. WFDF carries Radio Disney and like so many of their station, is overpowered to begin with, causing splatter.

As for non-local IBOC, 1120 KMOX puts out an obnoxious hiss, as does something (presumably KDKA) on 1030, along with WBZ. I did not, however, notice a hiss on 1020.

There are two ways of loking at this. First, there goes MWDX, which I'm afraid is the case. The second is that the hiss sounds better than Britney Spears and whoever else is on Disney. I hope 1200-1500 remains unscathed but I have my doubts.

SUDAN/RWANDA : Sudan Radio Sce via Rwanda 5985 at 0310 w/nx. Fair tonight, which is unusually good for this stn.

Doug FM is a very interesting station. Their slogan is "We play everything" and they do, although it's really rock from the 60s-00s. They do, however, contribute to the devastated Michigan economy by not having any DJs to announce the songs.
