Some of the English SWBC skeds have been updated on the
MARE site.

I heard two numbers stations recently. These are becoming increasingly rare.
5883: 5 figure #s at 0708 in Spanish. YL annc. Solid S8 signal.

6955: 5 figure #s at 0331 in Spanish. YL annc. Severely overmodulated and garbled.

I guess it was like this:
Western Med 0930, 1403, 1930 French time

(should then be 0830, 1303, 1830 UTC) Eastern Med 1030 GMT Atlantic 0930 GMT

All on channels 403, 804, 1224 and 1607 which means frequencies 4363, 8728, 13146 and 17260.

As earlier reported by others, Monaco Radio didn't sign-off at the end of 2007 but is still audible.

198: BBC at 2243 in w/news and talk. Very good. Unusual catch.

187.6: YHO, ham beacon from Mason OH at 0545 on 12 January. Heard
all next day as well.

MW-other
1630: The Toledo Traffic Lady at 1700 on 12 January with the follow-
ing message. "This is the ohio Department of Transportation Highway
Advisory Radio broadcasting system on AM 1630. The highway advisory
radio system includes signs with flashing beacons on I-75, I-475,
US-23 and US-24 to inform motorists of the latest traffic incidents,
delays and construction activities in the Metro Toledo Area. When the
beacons are flashing, motorists are urged to tune to this station for
the latest traffic updates and information. This message was recorded
on Tuesday January 8th at 7:30am and will repeat.

DXP results-shortwave

Here are some of the more interesting shortwave stations that I heard on a recent DXpedition.

CYPRUS: Cyprus BC Corp 6180 at 2241 in Greek. Moderate under R
Nacional from Brazil. //9760 poor. //7210 not heard but there was
severe ham QRM. 11 January.

ENGLAND: WYFR realy 3955 at 0513 in German. Good. 12 January.

ENGLAND: Radio Solh 15265 at 1350 in Dari/Pashto. Many mentions of
Taliban. 12 January

GREECE: Radiophonikos Stathmos Makedonias 7450 at 2151 in Greek with
music. Esc signal. 12 January.

LAOS: LNR 6130 at 1251+ w/talk. Talk mx. (p) Strong signal.
13 January.

LATVIA: Latvia Today 9290 at 1401+. Good. 13 January.

MOLDOVA: No sign of PMR Pridnestrovye this weekend.

MYANMAR: The Burmese Army Station 5770 at 1221-1330+. PWBR doesn't
list this at this time but sounds Burmese. Talk and pop music. (p)

SOUTH AFRICA: R Okapi 9635 at 0445 in presumed Lingala. Exc signal
via MEY. Again at 1656 on 11635 in French. 12 January

SOUTH AFRICA: South Sudan Interactive Radio Service 15675 at 1413
w/English instruction. Many doorbells heard to time students.
//15390 via Armavir not heard. 12 January

VATICAN: Vatican R 4005 direct at 2240 in Italian w/music. Fair.
//5885 via SMG exc. 12 January.

VATICAN: Vatican R 9755 at 1938 in Italian, w/Rosary said in Latin.
//7250 good but ham QRM. //5885 trace. //7365 trace.

VIETNAM: V of Vietman direct on 9840 at 1230. No QRM so more clear
than via Sackville at times. //12020 trace. 13 January.
